Music at St Andrew’s

There are many ways of taking part in the musical life of the school. Every child in Years 3 & 4 learns the violin or cello through the Wider Opportunities Programme, which is run by the BANES Music Service.

Watch the whole school perform “A Living Tree” in Bath Abbey

A Living Tree – Lyrics (PDF)

We also have several recorder groups and individual piano, violin and cello tuition. The school orchestra practices each week and performs regularly at school celebrations. We are passionate about singing at St Andrew’s, and our school choir is part of the Bath Abbey Schools Singing Programme.

Mr Bower’s Bath Abbey choir travelled to Braunschweig, Germany for 4 unforgettable days in June (2013). They gave several performances (including at the Cathedral) and made links with a local school, visited a forest school, a local newspaper and a science museum. The children absolutely loved it! To find out how they got on and how this amazing story unfolded, click on the links below and see images of the trip in the gallery section.
