As a way of encouraging all children to learn their times tables confidently, our school will be holding the weekly St Andrew’s Times Table Challenge for Years 1-6. We shall be holding a special launch day on Friday 22nd November.
At school, the children will learn a range of strategies to help them with their times tables. The day will end with an assembly at 14:45, when the children will learn about the St Andrew’s Times Table Challenge – parents of children in Years 1-6 are warmly invited to attend this too so that they may see how it all works.
Click on the following link for the information on how the Times Table Challenge will work, along with a pack of suggested strategies and activities that you can use with your child at home to encourage and support them to make progress with their times tables.
On our Curriculum page we also have more details on our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Calculation policies. This will give you a good overview of how we are developing Maths skills during lessons for our children from Years 1-6.
If you have any questions, please do ask your child’s class teacher for more information.
Happy learning, and good luck!
